Can we fix it? Yes we can!

Finally

This is Jen posting for the first time. I decided that I better learn how to so this so that we can post more than once every six months. I decided to add some more pictures to catch up on the last six months. Here we go!
I was cooking dinner one night. Bryson grapped some celery of the counter. I just let him take it and to my great delight he spent about 20 min shredding that celery. I got to make dinner in peace.

Bryson's Birthday

Bryson got a Thomas train set for his 2nd birthday. he was so excited when he got it, he completely ignored everyone for several hours and played quietly. Here was his reaction when he recieved it.

Jen and I made a Thomas the train birthday cake for Bryson. I think it turned out pretty good.

Daddy helped him get a little messy while eating his cake.

Bryson and his friend Kirsta got to go to Wheeler Farm and see all the animals. Bryson always talks about how he fed the "ducks". These geese were happy to get fed too.

They got dirty. Not sure how.

We got to go up to Plain City on Memorial day to visit Jen's Grandparent's grave site and their old family farm. Here, Bryson's Grandpa Robson is showing him the old tractor.

My Brother-in-law backed into the van with his Prizm. Bryson helped me fix the rear bumper.

He found holes to put the clips in so I had trouble finding them when I was putting the bumper back together. the trunk was caved in a bit, so I had Jen work the winch on the Power Wagon while I set the hook and we pulled the trunk back out and the lid actually opens and closes how it should.

We went to the auto expo this weekend to check out all of the new cars. Bryson got a chance to check out the ladies. "Hey Beautiful, you like my ride?"

lookout! coming through.

let me in!

I had the day off so we built a snowman. we put candy in for the eyes, mouth and buttons. Bryson wasn't having much fun waiting around in the cold while we were making it.

it snowed quite a bit. as you can see by this picture, we got about 8-10" that day.

uncle Allen got a new chair for christmas and Bryson knew exactly what to do with it. he was totally vegged out watching T.V.

Mom and Bryson playing in the snow.

Bryson loves to eat snow. that's about all he likes about it. everything else is just no fun.

Thanksgiving

It's Thanksgiving. and you know what that means. Yup! it's time again for the annual off roading extravaganza! we had three trucks show up this time. Timmy Joined Wade and I this year. Spencer tagged along in Timmy's Burban.

It turns out that Timmy's burban has a limited slip rear end. he showed it off by climbing this rock.

after climbing some hills and some rocks, we went and found a little mud puddle to play in.

we had to use Wade's truck to pull Timmy out.

Bryson has a new friend to play in his cardboard house. Kirsta came over to play when her mommy came to work on the ward Christmas party dinner. I asked Bryson to give Kirsta a hug and Kirsta gave Bryson a big bear hug.
Bryson got to try on his Thomas the train slippers before Christmas. he liked them a lot.

It snowed about 4 inches over the weekend and we're expecting at least 4 more on Monday. I decided to take bryson out to play in the snow for his first time. like everything new outside, he doesn't like it at first. He's still not used to it. He doesn't like to walk in it at all.

Halloween Time!

we woke up one morning and decided to listen to some Snow Patrol on our ipod. bryson let me hold him and bounce to the music. after a while he became entranced and just hugged me for several minutes. needless to say, mommy was very jealous. If you know bryson at all, you'd know that he's not very cuddly.
we had some friends over to carve pumpkins before halloween.

Bryson had some friends to play with in his new carboard box house. Hunter and Hailey.

It's Halloween time and someone decided to dress up as his favorite animal.

He loved barking and panting all night long.

he was very courteous. every time he got to pick his candy at the door he said thank you. he knows how to say trick or treat now, but he rarely said it at the doors.

I caught Bryson playing with his boots. he would walk around with one on each hand and just babble like he was having the greatest time. I couldn't get him to put both on for the picture.

Bryson just loves balloons. he'll spend an hour just playing with them if you let him. you can hear him saying "Biiiiuuuuuns" for Balloons and "up up aaay" for up, up, and away!

well, the winch doesn't work because the lever that engages it is rusted stuck, so I ripped it out the other night.
I'm just glad that I have a ceiling hoist. this sucker is beefy.
this winch is driven by the engine instead of electricity like contemporary winches. this gives it an amazing amount of torque and strength.
I got a little help lubing it up from my buddy Bryson.
Bryson and I got to spend a lot of time together this weekend because Mom was working. so we decided to go out and work on the yard. I blew all the leaves into a pile and put Bryson into it. He wasn't so sure about the leaves at first.
but he eventually liked being in the pile.
cheese!
cheese!

I finally decided to get the beast looking presentable. I found two canvas tops in the shed after we moved in. one looks like it might be the original. It's torn to shreds. the other one looks like it's in good condition. I had fun trying to figure out how to put it on. as you can see, I also got a Jerry can (gas can). I got it at a military truck junkyard in Idaho that I saw on the way to Washington.
as you can see, it's in decent shape. the only problem is that the rear plastic window has faded and cracked. I plan on just having the plastic replaced and calling it good.
I found the canopy bows in the shop and decided to see how they looked. They are not all straight because the boards on the back rests are warped. this makes it so I can't put the metal posts into their holes all the way.
